Congaree National Park, SC Infrared – March 2011
Congaree National Park is located in South Carolina, and it's a place unlike any we have here in Canada, certainly around Ottawa. It took about 18 hours to drive down, but this time I went with my kayak for some paddling adventure. It was well worth it. I also took along my trusty Nikon D1X, newly converted to Infrared. Actually, I had converted it myself in early October 2010 (yes, I risked critical failure and personally operated on my own baby, needing to take it apart several times before final success), though this time was a bit past prime time for IR photography as there are no more leaves on the trees. There are some opportunities in South Carolina though. These are some of the images I made while floating and camping along one of the tributaries of the Congaree River.
p.s. I will have more information on Congaree in a second gallery of regular images (not IR).
